Do some GOOD in this World!
Special Olympics is not just another charity. Each year, they give their athletes the chance to participate in events that challenge them and gives them tools and skills that reach way beyond "just sports". It gives visibility to people with intellectual disabilities, which is the first step in inclusion. education and acceptance. I have seen first-hand the positive affect Special Olympics has had on all involved.
In February I will be taking the chilly POLAR PLUNGE into the Columbia River (40 freakin' degrees!) to support the 14,000+ participants of Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR). Each year the athletes of SOOR train and compete their hardest, giving it their all, and being brave in the attempt.
I invite you to support me and help the Portland Polar Plunge reach its goal by donating to my personal page. My goal is to reach $1000.00! I can't resist a good costume contest and I will be dressing as the character Negan from "The Walking Dead", complete with Lucille (if you watch, you know). Running a 5K and then plunging into the Columbia wearing a motorcycle jacket should be an experience!
It’s a chilly job but someone has to do it!
